An invigorating 7-mile walk from Pigeonsford towards Cymtydu using footpaths and lanes and returning along the Ceredigion Coast Path. It leaves Pigeonsford, crossing the road into the woods and fields of Tredwr. Then along the road to Pontgarreg before following the path and road across to Dolgoy. Here, you take the lane towards Cwmtydu and Cilie Farm before turning right off the lane onto the footpath that traverses the valley (Cwm Fothau) before climbing back up to the lane that drops down towards Cwmtydu. At certain times of year, this path can be overgrown and so, if you find this is the case, simply return to the lane and continue along it until, after a couple of hundred yards, you turn right. Follow this lane, past a house (Foel) and farm (Cilie), before heading down the lane which descends towards Cwmtydu.
At Pen y Parc, near the bottom of the valley, there is a house, and here you take the track uphill towards the coast. After a couple of hundred metres, there is a gate which you pass through to reach the Coast. However, if you wish to visit the beach (or the loo!!) at Cymtydu, take the right hand fork and descend to the village. You will have to retrace your steps to this point if you make this detour.
Once through the gate, climb up to the coast, where you are rewarded with a lovely view of the coastline towards New Quay. From here, you merely follow the path for about 2.5 miles until you reach the gate into the Urdd Camp (Gwersyll yr Urdd) at which point you leave the Coast Path. From here, follow the road out of the camp, go straight across the road junction and return to Pigeonsford for a well deserved cuppa!
